What to expect at Blue Sky 2024?

In keeping with Blue Sky’s fun, laidback vibe, there have been some great social themes over the years including ‘Psychedelic '60s, Roaring '20s, Wild West and ‘All that Blue Sky Jazz’.

This year is no exception as we take off to the skies. “Come fly Blue Sky with us”.

The Blue Sky program for 2024 features an outstanding group of local Australian optometrists and ophthalmologists including Michael Yapp, Dr Bao Nguyen, Natalie Ainscough, Dr Jaz Aujila, Dr Jolly Gilhotra, Dr Jamie Craig, Dr Anchal Gupta and Mitchell Walker.

We have developed a program to ensure it meets the OBA requirements – with a great line-up of speakers and all of the Blue Sky fun you’ve come to know over the years.

Members will be able to access approximately 19 hours of CPD with assessment across the full two days. The face-to-face event includes interactive education, a terrific trade show, all meals and the much loved social event which will be held within the beautiful Adelaide Convention Centre overlooking the river.

We will be reviewing and updating the Blue Sky program over the coming weeks to ensure all of the lectures fit with the OBA’s learning requirements. We will alert members once the program changes are complete, with details made available online as soon as possible.

Trade Exhibition

The exhibition will run throughout both days

Is your CPR Certificate current?

Optometrists are required to renew their CPR certificate every three years.

We are offering delegates an opportunity to complete the training at Blue Sky.

Places are limited and bookings are essential.

A different way
of adult learning

Whilst Blue Sky is known for its relaxed and entertaining style, our foundation continues to be our reputation for quality education based on adult learning principles which encourage you to participate in your learning process. Our presenters are briefed to speak on something they are passionate about. They are also instructed to provide key take-home messages that you can implement in your consulting room the very next day.

Formative Assessment Learning

Formative assessment is a well-established, best-practice methodology in adult learning and has been proven to significantly enhance delegate attainment of learning objectives. It provides an opportunity for the speaker to both assess the current knowledge of the audience and to monitor their learning as the presentation progresses, with the added bonus of being able to adjust the presentation, stress key points and repeat important messages as required.

Entertainment based Learning

At Blue Sky we believe learning should be fun!

Research has proven that adults learn more and remember new information for longer if they are enjoying themselves.
